The central goal of all ATBI programs is an inventory, or survey, of all living organisms, from mammals and birds to reptiles, insects, bacteria, and fungi that are found within a particular study area. Using the results of this work, scientists are able to pinpoint the habitats of various species, and describe the ecological conditions in which they live.
The Adirondack ATBI seeks to involve citizen groups, educators, artists, writers, photographers, and volunteers. All are welcome to join in this wonderful and important project to learn about biodiversity in the Adirondacks.
