Species lists and databases

One goal of the ATBI is to create a temporally and spatially referenced database of species.  Although this effort is just getting off the ground for ATBI, some statewide faunal surveys have searchable databases available on the web.  These databases are described below.  The list of species found at the Paul Smiths Visitor Interpretive Center during the ATBI Bioblitz in 2007 can be found here.

New York Breeding Bird Atlas (NYBBA) - A link to the database can be found on the left side of the introductory page. The database contains maps for each bird species or can be searched by atlas block number.

New York Dragonfly and Damselfly Survey (NYDDS) - This survey took place from 2005 to 2008. County lists and species occurrence maps can be found under "Materials for Participants".
