Arboriculture & Landscape Management
The arboriculture and landscape management program provides the education and training that can lead to an exciting and challenging career in the green industry. Our graduates are employed as tree surgeons, landscape designers, turf specialists and city arborists all over the country.
And while our hands-on approach develops practical skills our students use in the real world, a Paul Smith’s education delivers more than just a strong technical background. Today, the management of natural resources is becoming increasingly complex, and to be successful, a wide range of skills is needed. Our graduates build the foundation necessary to make decisions and become leaders.
Arboriculture and landscape management students learn how to properly plant, fertilize and prune trees in the landscape. Students also become familiar with common diseases and insects of trees along with appropriate management strategies.
In 2013, Paul Smith's earned recognition from the Tree Campus USA program. This initiative, developed by the Arbor Day Foundation and Toyota, honors colleges and universities that promote healthy trees and conservation. As part of the arboriculture program, you'll gain experience taking care of the landscape that is such an integral part of the college's identity.
