About the Program
The bachelor’s degree program in parks, recreation & facilities management develops students with broad knowledge of the science, technical skills and operational practices needed to excel in the industry, as well as a solid foundation in the liberal arts.
As the parks, recreation & facilities management field becomes increasingly complex, graduates need a wide range of other skills and knowledge, such as communications and critical thinking, in order to advance to management and leadership positions. The program’s curriculum recognizes these needs and prepares students for these responsibilities.
This program combines both traditional and experiential learning to encourage discovery, discipline and creativity. Through coursework in classrooms, laboratories and program-specific fieldwork, students gain knowledge and develop skills to prepare them for rewarding careers and life-long learning.
