First Year Rebound

First Year Rebound Program

The First Year Rebound Program is a series of 6 academic skill building workshops for first semester students who end up on probation or reinstated suspension. The goal of this program is to help students develop the skills they need to get back in good standing and maintain long-term academic success. Using a themed week-by-week framework, each workshop introduces students to hands-on tools and active learning strategies that correspond with key events in the academic calendar. At the start of each workshop students are presented with an energizing activity or video that demonstrates the focus of the session. Students are then given time to apply the tools and strategies to course work from their current classes. At the end of the 6 weeks, student are given the option to continue attending study sessions lead by a student mentor who has assisted the professional staff during the earlier workshops.

The First Year Rebound Program is  geared to focus on the future not dwell on the past. Students who participate in these workshops will become connected with a supportive group of their peers who are facing the same situations. Students will set goals, be mindful of their every day actions, and be encouraged to reach their fullest potential.
