Paul Smith's College hosted the 2013 Empire State Games on February 10th, with the sprints at the Paul Smith's College soccer field in the morning, and the 5K cross country event held at the Paul Smith's College VIC during the afternoon.

Ten members of the Striders earned a total of 29 medals through the day's racing, including Eric Kowalik, Louis Ferrone, Ashley Evans, Lea Anthony, Corrie Desilets, Jennifer Magudere, Natalie Palko, Rebekah Kruppenbacher, and Alexa Cosgro.

Three new snowshoe runners from the women's soccer team (Rebekah Kruppenbacher, Jennifer Maguder, and Natalie Palko) raced on snowshoes for the first time, and won seven medals. A really nice performance. Natalie may become a poster child for joyous snowshoe running.
