Women's volleyball team fall in 3 tough Sunrise Conference matches The lady bobcats volleyball team lost its first three conference games on Saturday. The first match the ladies were lost to a very talented University of Maine Presque Isle team 3-0 sets. Coach Navarra said after the game" UMPI has a very competitive team and always shows up to play. We played well, but a team has to work the entire game. Rally point is fast and a few errors and the game is over.
The second match the lady bobcats lost a heartbreaker to the University of Maine Fort Kent in 5 sets. The girls lost the last set 15-11 to lose the match but Coach Navarra was very happy with the effort. " We worked hard for every point. This was the most consistent we played all year. We have to be a team that feels and shows confidence when leading in a match. Errors on serving were the deciding factor for this match."
The last match of the day for the lady bobcats took on the University of Maine Machias and lost in straight sets. It was a tough match following a great preformance in the previous match. Coach Navarra said following the match "It was a mental let down in the match after a touch 5 set lose to Fort Kent. We worked hard but have to realize every serve must go into play."
The lady bobcat return to action on Tuesday Oct. 6th against Green Mountain College at 7 PM. |
