Coach's Corner- Men's Basketball —

The men's basketball team lost the opening game of the Saint's Classic at North Country Community College against Suffolk County Community College yesterday 54-108. The Bobcats faught hard but played very sloppy in the loss. Playing with only 6 players and so key players sitting out did not help either. Coach Akey was very happy with the effort but the execution is just not there.
"Our guards did not handle the pressure well at all. We had 30 turnovers as a team. When you turn it over at that rate it is hard to get anything going. We forced the action too much which led to the turnovers. When we did run the offense we got great looks. We worked very hard but gave them too many possessions by turning it over. Our overall half court defense looked great and we rebounded the ball well. They got too many transition layups because of poor rotation offensively. Again the kids worked hard but if you want to be successful you have to do the little things right and we did not."
The Bobcats return to action today against Word of Life at noon in the consolation game of the tournament.
