PSC Men's Soccer Team Defeats NHTI 4-3 —

With a high noon kick off Tuesday, the Paul Smith's College Men's Soccer Team started out the 2011 season against 3-time defending conference champions New Hampshire Technical Institute.

PSC took the lead early with a penalty kick rebound by junior #25 Ryan Lawley who passed to sophomore #4 Anthony Ventello for the goal. Several minutes later, Lawley drove a 30-yard shot across the field into the upper side netting, putting the Bobcats up 2-0.

NHTI responded with two goals to tie the match, and PSC again took the lead with another Lawley goal assisted by freshman #17 Max Curtiss. Once again NHTI tied the score, but their defense could not contain the Bobcat offense; Curtiss assisted Lawley for a fourth PSC goal resulting in a 4-3 victory.

PSC's defense played an outstanding 90 minutes, and sophomore goalkeeper Harrison Turk recorded 12 saves.

The women and men host the College of St. Joseph at home this Sunday, September 4 beginning at 3pm.
