Lady Bobcats Soccer Tough loss to NCCC 5 - 4 —

The Lady Bobcats opened their 2011 season yesterday at North Country Community College, losing a tough battle 5-4.

Senior Joelle Guisti scored two for the Bobcats, sophomore Alexa Cosgro scored one off a North Country deflection and freshman Kara Nipper put one in the back of the net.

NCCC scored early but PSC had a strong comeback to take the lead 3-2 at halftime. The Bobcats then scored another to increase their lead to 4-2 in the second half. A few injuries set PSC back late in the game allowing NCCC to rally for the win.

Freshman goalkeeper Asenath Brooks recorded 11 saves and the tough defensive work of sophomore Rebekah Kruppenbacher, combined with the tactical skill of freshman defender Ellie Matalavage, helped PSC maintain the lead for most of the match.

The entire team worked very hard, and everyone made a significant contribution. Among the highlights were the strong substitution efforts of junior Lacey Galusha, sophomore Tasha St. Gelais, and freshman Christina Peterson.

Join us this Saturday (tomorrow) at 1pm as the lady Bobcats host Wells College.
