This workshop will help you to improve your walking.
Walking is a very complex activity that requires the coordination and orientation of the entire person. Learn how all the different parts of you are interrelated in this fundamental activity. Anybody can benefit from this workshop and in particular people who are recovering from an injury which impairs how they walk. We will explore how the movement of the feet is transferred through the legs into the hips and trunk. We will start indoors with relevant Awareness through Movement lessons (approximately 2-1/2 hours). Afterwards we will take what we just learned outside and deepen our understanding with a dynamic walking lesson (30 minutes).
You do not need prior Feldenkrais experience to enjoy this workshop. Mats are provided, but feel free to bring a mat or blanket with you. Wear layers of comfortable clothes as the workshop will begin inside the dance room and end outside.
Uwe Mester of Vermont Feldenkrais will be leading the session.
Fee: $25 Full scholarships are available for Paul Smith's College students.
