An acclaimed author and illustrator of nearly 200 children’s science books will give a talk Friday, Oct. 17, at Paul Smith's College.
Jim Arnosky is the recipient of multiple awards, including the Christopher, Orbis Pictus and the Franklin Fairbank for being Vermont's foremost creative guide to nature lore. His fishing books are included in the International Game and Fishing Association Hall of Fame Library.
Arnosky will speak at 10:10 a.m. in the Freer Auditorium. His talk is titled “Swamp Stories.” Read more »
Paul Smith’s College officials announced the largest-ever scholarship gift in the institution’s history on Monday, Sept. 22: A $2 million fund meant to help students who wouldn’t be able to afford college otherwise.
The Frank M. Hutchins Scholarship Endowment was created by his widow, Jeanne. Frank Hutchins was a longtime trustee and supporter of Paul Smith’s who died in 2012 at the age of 90. Read more »
An expert in job training and career counseling, who helped raise the standard of living for the citizens of Guyana, will kick off this fall’s Fisheries and Wildlife Seminar Series Friday, Sept. 19, at Paul Smith’s College.

Paul Smith’s College will offer a minor in craft-beer studies and operations beginnning this fall.
The new minor prepares students for careers in micro and craft brewing. “Although hands-on, practical brewing will be an aspect of the minor, the main intent is not to create beer brewers,” said Prof. Joe Conto. “Rather, the goal is to prepare students for all the management, administrative and operations opportunities the craft-beer industry has created and supports.” Read more »
