Woodland Writer's Workshop

Saturday, August 23, 2014 - 12:00pm - 5:00pm

Discover how essays and poems are used as compelling forms of expressing our relationship to landscapes and people, and of sharing the journey and transformation through direct personal experience.  Exercises include: detailed description of natural objects, writing, the practice of taking field notes to capture the sensory power of ecological patterns and processes, trail-side reading of select essays and poems that exemplify the use of ecology to convey our relationship to land, and more writing. The workshop will be conducted entirely in the field and will conclude with sharing of work, immediate feedback, and a group reading.  Cost: $25 per person – 10% discount for Friends of the VIC

Group Size Limit: 12 people. Sponsored by the Adirondack Center for Working Landscapes.
