What is your favorite activity in the Adirondacks? I am a huge fan of hiking, biking, canoeing, hunting, and snowboarding so there are many options to choose from! I think if I had to choose one, my favorite activity would be hiking. There are a lot of great trails and mountains out here to hike and its home to the 46’ers, which one-day I would like to be a part of.
What is your favorite restaurant and why? So far my favorite restaurant is Lisa G’s in Lake Placid. They have some pretty great wings. Captain Cook’s has ridiculously amazing fries and the wings are pretty good too. Desperados is the place to be if you’re looking for good Mexican food. I haven’t had a lot of time to explore the different places in the area but I am a huge fan of food and plan on hitting up as many as possible!
What is the best part of being a recruiter at Paul Smith's College? Being from Michigan, I was so used to suburbs, buildings, and skyscrapers. Out here there is nothing drawing away from the beauty of the horizon. I came to the Adirondacks to take full advantage of all the life opportunities and activities. There is so much to do and see, every day you have the option to experience something new if you would like to! I stay here because of all of the great opportunities and the comfort of a close nit community. I have not met a single mean person here and everyone has been extremely supportive both on and off campus!

Tell me about one of the really cool events or professors at Paul Smith's College that make it such a special place... From the Woodsman’s School to Cooking for Scholarships and even the 90miler canoe race, there are so many cool things that are going on around campus. I don’t know of another place where you can throw an axe in a woodsman competition one day and then go study cuisine in Italy the next. There is such a vast range of opportunities to get involved on campus and such a supportive faculty and staff that are very approachable. Not to mention the hands on education you can get here that will actually get you involved with your course of study!
