The festival will feature field trips to boreal birding hot spots, informative lectures, workshops, a raffle, social hours and more. The keynote speaker, Noah Strycker, associate editor of Birding magazine, will give a talk titled “Bird World,” an exploration of the parallels between bird and human behavior. Some of the boreal species participants might find include the black-backed woodpecker, American three-toed woodpecker, boreal chickadee, spruce grouse, Bicknell's thrush and a variety of migrating warblers.
