Rep. Owens addresses Forest, Farm & Fork Symposium
U.S. Rep. Bill Owens speaking to an audience of 100 people at the Forest, Farm & Fork symposium at the Paul Smith's College VIC on Monday, April 21, 2014. Owens told the audience that while the latest Farm Bill faced difficult passage in Congress, now that it's here it offers a wealth of opportunities for farmers and other food producers to bring their wares to local farmers' markets.
The event is sponsored by the Adirondack Center for Working Landscapes (ACWL), a collaborative initiative between Paul Smith's College and Cornell Cooperative Extension. The center will promote purposefully integrated, multifunctional landscapes, which are central to crafting durable communities capable of producing both healthy ecosystems and a vibrant economy in the Adirondacks-North Country.
