Best Colleges - U.S. News & World Report - Regional Colleges Best Value 2019On Monday, U.S. News and World Report released its 2019 Best Colleges Rankings, a list in which Paul Smith’s College earned five different awards in the Regional Colleges North category:

  • No. 6 for “Best Value Schools”
  • No. 14 for “Best Regional Colleges”
  • No. 8 for “Best Colleges for Veterans”
  • No. 2 for “Most Innovative Schools”
  • No. 2 for “Best Undergraduate Teaching”

Three of the awards – “Best Value Schools”, “Best Regional Colleges”, and “Best Colleges for Veterans – highlight jumps made since last year, when Paul Smith’s ranked Nos. 7, 22, and 15, respectively.

“Most Innovative Schools” and “Best Undergraduate Teaching”, meanwhile, are new honors for the college. Both are awarded based on an annual survey of academic experts and college officials.

“Paul Smith’s College is absolutely amazing. I am beyond happy to finish my undergrad here because I believe my classes truly prepare me for the real world,” said Donovan Miller, president of the Paul Smith’s College Student Government Association. “My professors are some of the best in the world and their main focus is preparing you for life after college. My experience at Paul Smith’s has been nothing but spectacular. I would highly recommend it to anyone.”

In the “Best Value Schools” category, Paul Smith’s scored especially well in its providing of need-based aid. Other strong marks, such as student to faculty ratio and alumni giving rate, helped the college secure its No. 14 in “Best Regional Colleges.”

Inclusion in the “Best Colleges for Veterans” category requires participation in the Yellow Ribbon Program, strong veteran enrollment, and a top-half finish in a college’s ranking category.

U.S. News and World Report is widely recognized for its collegiate rankings published annually on the internet and in print.
