John W. Mills will serve as interim president of Paul Smith’s College until the search for his successor is complete.

A Paul Smith's education delivers: According to a survey administered by the college's Career Services office, 91 percent of the Class of 2012 either found work in a field related to their degree or went to graduate school within six months of graduation.
The survey was given to students who graduated in Aug. 2011, Dec. 2011 and May 2012; 85 percent of the class responded.
When it comes to climate change, Prof. Curt Stager's sees "some rays of hope amid the storm" - views that Andrew Revkin, who heads the New York Times' Dot Earth blog, featured in a post on Sunday.
Stager, a professor of natural resources at Paul Smith's, is author of "Deep Future: The Next 100,000 Years of Life on Earth."
A team of 35 stewards from the Adirondack Watershed Institute at Paul Smith's College are stationed at boat launches across the Adirondacks this summer, inspecting watercraft to help stop the spread of aquatic invasive species and teaching boaters how they can check their own boats as well.

The student training restaurant in Cantwell Hall reopens for the summer on Friday, June 27. The menu, inspired by the legendary Palm steakhouses, offers classic selections such as clams casino, chicken parmigiana and New York strip steak, and a dessert menu that includes items such as cheesecake and crème brûlée. The restaurant also serves beer and wine.

Go birding, explore the St. Regis Wilderness Area, track wildlife and discover the mysteries of Adirondack forests: These are some of the hands-on experiences waiting for high school students in the new Adirondack Field Ecology program at Paul Smith's College.
The program, aimed at students interested in biodiversity conservation and wilderness ecology, will run from August 2-16. It will be taught by Paul Smith's College faculty members and open to students who have completed their junior or senior year of high school. Read more »
