Federal Work Study

The Federal Work-Study program provides jobs for students who demonstrate financial need. In addition, the college funds a student employment program which is not based upon financial need. Work Study students at Paul Smith's College work between 5 to 10 hours per week, earn an average of $2000 per academic year and are paid the current federal minimum wage on a bi-weekly basis. Eligibility is determined by the Student Financial Services Office.

  • Before Working: All Financial Aid and/or Student Employment paperwork MUST be completed, and the applicant must have a Work Study Authorization Form provided by the Student Employment Office.
  • Finding a Position: A student can look in the On-Campus Employment Postings. Students are responsible for contacting potential employers and arranging interviews. The hiring decision is made by the Supervisor who listed the position.
