Paul Smith's College

Welcome Veterans!

Thank you for your service to our Country!

Paul Smith's College was founded on the principles of experiential learning—hands-on, learning by doing! As a member of the military, you understand the value of experiential learning. With small class sizes, a close knit community, an approachable faculty and staff, and many support services to help you succeed, Paul Smith's College is your first step to your new career

Located in the 6 million acre Adirondack Park, Paul Smith's College is a living laboratory right at your doorstep. Located on the shores of St. Regis Lake, with rivers and mountains steps away, our campus provides a dynamic environment for exploring your future career.

Paul Smith's is veteran friendly! We accept CLEP/DANTES and military transcript credits if applicable toward your degree or required elective credits. Paul Smith's also offers two different ways of counting your life experience toward your degree. First, you can prepare a Portfolio of Prior Learning to receive credit from your prior life experience. Second, if you feel that you have already met the learning outcomes associated with a particular course, you can "challenge" the course by meeting with the instructor and passing a "challenge exam" on the subject matter of the course. Credit by challenge exam, including CLEP exams is limited to 15 credit hours.

We can help with your VA benefits. Beginning in Fall 2009, Paul Smith's can help you bridge the time between coming to college and beginning to receive your VA benefits. Please contact Lyn Shatraw at 327-6204 or lshatraw@paulsmiths.edu for more information about this benefit.

If you have questions about your VA Education Benefits please see our Veterans' Information Page or you can contact the Registrar's Office at (518) 327-6231.
