Peer Tutoring

Individual or small group tutoring is available free of charge for most classes taught at Paul Smith's College.

How to sign up for a tutor:

  1. Complete a Tutor Request Form (PDF). (Download or get one from the Academic Support Center upstairs in the Joan Weill Adirondack Library.)
  2. Meet with Amy Tuthill, tutor coordinator in Library 203
  3. You will receive a weekly tutoring schedule during the appointment or one will be e-mailed to you soon afterwards.

What to bring to a tutoring session:

  1. Your books and notes from class
  2. Previous homework and problem sets
  3. Tests/quizzes to review
  4. A calculator if needed for the class
  5. ANY questions you have!

More information about peer tutoring: Sessions may be scheduled during day or evening hours based on your needs and the tutor's availability.

  • Most tutoring takes place in the Academic Support Center, upstairs in the library.
  • Tutors are trained to help you learn and improve your understanding of course material.
  • Tutors can teach you new study techniques or problem solving strategies that helped them succeed in the same course.
