Peer Tutoring Individual or small group tutoring is available free of charge for most classes taught at Paul Smith's College.
How to sign up for a tutor:
- Complete a Tutor Request Form (PDF). (Download or get one from the Academic Support Center upstairs in the Joan Weill Adirondack Library.)
- Meet with Amy Tuthill, tutor coordinator in Library 203
- You will receive a weekly tutoring schedule during the appointment or one will be e-mailed to you soon afterwards.
What to bring to a tutoring session:
- Your books and notes from class
- Previous homework and problem sets
- Tests/quizzes to review
- A calculator if needed for the class
- ANY questions you have!
More information about peer tutoring: Sessions may be scheduled during day or evening hours based on your needs and the tutor's availability.
- Most tutoring takes place in the Academic Support Center, upstairs in the library.
- Tutors are trained to help you learn and improve your understanding of course material.
- Tutors can teach you new study techniques or problem solving strategies that helped them succeed in the same course.
