Academic Recovery Program
The Academic Recovery Program (ARP) at Paul Smith's College is offered to students who, after experiencing academic difficulty during a given semester, are placed on Academic Probation. Students who agree to the conditions of the Academic Recovery Program sign a contract stating that they will comply with those conditions for the semester they are on probation. Signing the contract with their advocate indicates that students plan to be proactive in achieving academic success.
One of the requirements of the Academic Recovery Program is that students must meet weekly with a personal advocate, a Paul Smith's College faculty or professional staff member, who will help direct them toward achieving their academic goals. Advocates also inform students about college's available resources, such as the Student Development Center (SDC), the Center for Accommodative Services (CAS), and the Academic Success Center (ASC), etc, while reinforcing the probationary standing discussed in the student contract.
