Security on Campus

The Office of Campus Safety is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure and learning friendly environment for students, faculty and staff as well as safeguarding College property. Campus Safety also registers vehicles, directs and controls traffic and parking, investigates motor vehicle complaints, conducts investigations, provides after-dark escort services between parking lots and other campus locations and residence halls, and responds to emergency situations and complaints. Campus Safety is on duty 24 hours a day and may be reached by calling 327-6300, or 6300 from a campus phone.

It is important to note that Campus Safety is not a law enforcement agency. While they do enforce college policy, they do not make arrests or issue court appearance tickets. Should students require assistance in any way, Campus Safety will assess the situation and make appropriate referrals whether it is to the New York State Police or to the local Ambulatory Service. Neither Campus Safety nor Residence Life Staff will transport students to the local hospital as part of the job expectations. Student may be hired as a student driver, but this is not an expectation of their residence life position.
