Clubs & Organizations

  • Adirondack Mushroom Club: The Adirondack Mycology Club’s mission is to explore, inform, educate, investigate and celebrate the diverse fungi of the Adirondacks. Club activities will include classification and naming of fungi, mushroom forays and other field trips near Paul Smith’s College and the surrounding area, as well as exploring the culinary and artistic aspects of mushrooms.
  • Anime and Gaming Club: This club is involved in exploring the world of anime and comic books. The group attends anime and comic book conventions, watches movies & shows, and reads comic books & manga. If you are a “ true believer" come and join this club!!!This club is all fun and games. They also meet to play PC and console video games, board games, role-playing games, and card games. They boosts campus interest in gaming with activities such as tournaments, LAN parties, game nights, and demonstrations.
  • B-GLAD (Bisexual, Gay, Lesbian Advocates for Diversity): This group provides support, information, and the opportunity to raise awareness for students with alternative lifestyles and those who wish to support them.
  • Baking and Pastry Arts:Our club is to provide out of class, fun, learning for the Baking and Pastry Art Major, allowing members to become more involved in our Paul Smiths College community, while bringing a new perspective to it. We test recipes, go on trips, and learn new skills or build on old ones. If you can’t bake no problem you can learn, all are welcome.
  • Culinary Club : This club is for students who are interested in the culinary field and cooking! They do many events throughout the year and eat lots of food!
  • Draft Horse Club: We maintain the College's horse barn, as well as provide general health care for the school's draft horses. We have monthly work parties for club members to clean up the pastures and barn. Fundraisers and wagon rides are included in the club. Keep your eyes posted for the annual Alumni Breakfast!
  • Fish and Game Club: The goal of the Paul Smith's College Fish and Game Club is to promote the importance of sportsmanlike conduct within a learning environment. Hunting safety and ethical fishing practices will be held with the highest regard. Likewise the club will strive to bring in members with little to no experience in the field in the effort to educate them to the sports. As that Paul Smith's College is a center of the environmental education the club will also augment environmental awareness and responsibility to the community.
  • Forestry Club: This club attracts students from all academic disciplines. It sponsors a wide range of social activities, including the annual student/alumni spaghetti dinner in the Forestry Club Cabin and is involved in many construction projects around campus.
  • Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI): We're a student chapter of this national organization. We were established in spring 2005 to provide sales and marketing experience to Paul Smith's hospitality students through a variety of club activities, including sales blitzes, guest speakers, seminars, hotel site visits, planning and running special events and fundraisers, volunteering for community service and participation in the NYC Hotel Show and PSC Annual Hospitality Symposium.
  • Intervarsity Christian Fellowship(a.k.a. Koininia): is an inter-denominational Christian fellowship that offers weekly Bible studies, church outings and opportunities to serve not only the Paul Smith's College campus, but also the surrounding community.
  • Student Activities Council: This organization is responsible for the planning and implementation of events on campus such as bands, comedians, special events and movies. This organization works in conjunction with the Student Activities Office.
  • The Outing Club: The Outing Club covers a wide variety of outdoor recreation pursuits: hiking, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, backpacking, telemark skiing, backcountry skiing, snowshoeing, kayaking, rock and ice climbing, the ropes course, safety certifications and training.
  • Rugby (Mens): Teamwork, integrity and loyalty are the foundations of this club. Over 35 students get together to play, have a good time and promote sportsmanship and athletics at Paul Smith's.
  • SEA (Students for Environmental Action): SEA aims to increase communication, collaboration, and action on campus sustainability initiatives across departments, roles and levels of authority. We also strive to participate in off-campus events in order to keep an appropriate perspective on environmental issues and actions.
  • Society of American Foresters (SAF): The Society of American Foresters (SAF) is the national scientific and educational organization representing the forestry profession in the United States.
  • Ski and Snowboard: If you are a skier or snowboarder, this is the club for you! Our club is made up of students, faculty, and staff who like to have fun on and off the slopes. We go on skiing and riding day trips throughout the season to places such as Whiteface Mountain, Titus Mountain and Mt. Pisgah; we also pick one destination for a long weekend or alternative spring break. Keep your eyes and ears open for club events, trips and fundraisers.   • Veterans Club:This club provides support to the Veteran’s at PSC. They send packages to our troops and support them in many different ways.
  • Wildlife Society: The Wildlife Society is a student branch of the National Wildlife Society. The Wildlife Society has planned several events and activities which include providing members with peer and professional networking opportunities.
  • WPSA: WPSA (98.3) is the college's own radio station. This club's goal is to reach students through radio waves. WPSA sponsors give-aways, open houses and T-shirt sales. Anyone can DJ - just let us know you're interested!
