ALERT Program

The Accessing Local Emergency Response Technology system is designed to help guide the campus and its constituents during times of minor emergencies and/or large scale disaster.

This system is maintained by the Office of Student Affairs, in conjunction with a number of different campus offices and uses three different mediums to inform those affected by the emergency.

  1. By dialing x6219 individuals can access the A.L.E.R.T. voicemail box that will be updated during an emergency or disaster and will provide them with vital information.
  2. Students, faculty, staff and hotel staff will receive information about particular situations through the alert@paulsmiths.edu email address. This email address is a send only address and will not receive reply messages.
  3. During large scale emergencies, disasters, or crime information alerts, posters will be displayed in strategic locations informing the campus community of the situation.

By developing this process we will be able to inform our campus community of current situations ranging from power outages to large scale evacuations. Part of this program will also allow us to inform our student body of recent unsolved crimes part of the New York State Clery Act. For more information please contact the Office of Student Affairs at (518) 327-6440.
