Prescription Medication

Student Health Service’s Physicians can prescribe medications for students. Health Services can also help process prescriptions given to students by their hometown practitioners. Please make sure to schedule a renewal visit in Health Services at least 3-5 days before your medication supply runs out.

Saranac Lake Pharmacies:

Kinney Drugs offers a delivery service for prescription medications. Student’s should call ahead to Kinney Drugs & request that their prescription should be sent to the Paul Smith’s Health Services office. Once our office has received it, a notification will be sent out to the student. Currently we cannot put co-pays from Kinney Drugs onto student’s accounts.

Walgreens Pharmacy currently does not offer a delivery service to campus & we cannot place co-pays from Walgreens onto student’s accounts. We suggest only using Walgreens if the student has consistent transportation, or lives off campus.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Students are responsible for keeping controlled medications in a secure place. They are also responsible for picking up their medications from Health Services in a timely manner. If a Student decides they do not want a prescription anymore, but it has already been brought to campus, charges will still apply.
