TOBACCO FREE     Paul Smith's College

ABOUT THE PLAN

Paul Smith’s College President John W. Mills led the effort to become a tobacco-free campus in 2012, convening a committee to explore the issue. Focus groups and open forums helped shape the ultimate policy, which was announced in December 2012.

The first phase of the plan – to restrict smoking and tobacco use to certain areas on campus – will take effect in August 2013. A year later, tobacco use will be prohibited everywhere on campus and other designated properties.
