Adirondack historian Philip Terrie speaking on campus Wednesday - 2010-09-15
Philip Terrie, author of "Contested Terrain: A New History of the Wilderness in the Adirondacks," will speak at Paul Smith's College tonight (Wednesday, Sept. 15).
Terrie will appear at a First Year Seminar course in Freer Auditorium. Limited seating is available for the lecture.
Terrie, professor emeritus of American cultural studies and English at Bowling Green State University, is a leading Adirondack historian. Bill McKibben wrote of "Contested Terrain," "This classic volume deserves pride of place on any Adirondack bookshelf; it is the pre-eminent history of these mountains."
