To the Final Four! - 2011-10-18

The Paul Smith's men’s and women’s soccer teams are both headed to the Yankee Small College Conference championship final four round in Concord, N.H., on Saturday, Oct. 22. Winners of those matches will move to the finals on Sunday to play for the conference championship and a spot at the USCAA national tournament in North Carolina.

The men, ranked 10th in the nation, clinched first place in the YSCC Western Division with a 7-1-0 conference record while the women, ranked 16th nationally, took second with a 6-2-0 conference record.

Over the past weekend the men defeated Hampshire College 3-0 with goals from junior Ryan Lawley, sophomore Anthony Ventello, and freshman Alex Roache. The women defeated NHTI Sunday 4-2. Senior Keali Lerch scored her first goal of the season. Also scoring for the Bobcats were senior Joelle Guisti (2 goals) and freshman Elle Matalavage.
