Paul Smith’s College is located in Paul Smith’s, New York in the Adirondacks. At Paul Smith’s, students can major in variety of environmental programs, including Fisheries and Wildlife Science, Environmental Science, Biology and Ecological Restoration. Experiential learning is at the core of the Paul Smith’s College environmental programs with direct hands-on experience in field work. data collection and analysis, and reporting. Direct engagement cultivates the passion of our students.
The Paul Smith’s College Sub-Unit of the American Fisheries Society is set up to help students interested in fisheries and aquatic sciences gain a higher level of knowledge and experience in all our programs. This organization also provides students with opportunities to meet professionals in the field and network with these experienced individuals. Within this past year, our chapter has taken part in long-term monitoring of fish populations in St. Regis Lake and Smitty Creek Watershed, toured the Lake Clear Fish Hatchery, and attended the New York State American Fisheries Society conference in Cooperstown, NY.
