DESCRIPTION:Family Weekend is a chance for parents\, siblings\, grandparents and other loved ones to experience life at Paul Smith’s College alongside their Smitty. Spend time on campus\, explore the Adirondacks\, meet members of the College community and take part in activities throughout the weekend. From athletics and campus events to local attractions and outdoor adventures\, there’s plenty to see and do while you’re here. \nFriday\, September 25\nOn Campus\n\n\n\nTime\nEvent\n\n\nAll Day\nVisitor Interpretive Center — Open all day. Trails are open from dawn to dusk. Entrance is approximately 1.5 miles from campus on Route 30\n\n\n9 a.m.–4 p.m.\nThe Mercantile — JWSC\, first floor\n\n\n1–7 p.m.\nBoosters Club Clothing Sale — Proceeds support student initiatives and activities\n\n\n3–6 p.m.\nRegistration — Student Center Lobby\n\n\n3 p.m.\nCutting Board Making — Maker’s Space. SUMMARY:Guided Canoe Paddle
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a beginner level canoe paddle on Barnum Pond with VIC staff. Participants will learn about Adirondack wetlands and bogs and the fascinating diversity of life they support as you navigate along the Barnum Outlet into Barnum Pond. Hats and sunscreen are recommended. Ages 5+. Children must be accompanied by one adult per two children. Every Saturday and Sunday\, the weather permitting\, 10am-12:30pm. Preregistration is required.

SUMMARY:Volunteer Trails Day at the VIC
DESCRIPTION:What better way to spend a Saturday morning than trail work at the VIC? Meet us at the Black Pond trailhead on Keese Mills Road at 10am. Bring anything you need to be comfortable in the woods for a few hours- including food and water. Tools and gloves will be provided\, but if you have your own gloves and/or loppers/pruners that you like using\, feel free to bring them. \nDirections to the Black Pond Trailhead: \nFrom the junction of NY-86 and NY-30 (right across from the main entrance to the College)\, take the first left onto Keese Mills Road. Drive for 2.5 miles\, then the trailhead will be on your right. If you see the St Regis Trailhead\, you’ve gone too far!

SUMMARY:Boreal Life Nature Walk
DESCRIPTION:Join VIC Steward Alli Brunner on an exploration of two special ecosystems: the bog and the boreal forest. This guided walk takes place on our Boreal Life trail\, and is about a mile and a half long (with frequent stops to look at plants and animals!). This program is recurring\, running every other Sunday beginning Sunday\, June 7th and running through October 2026\, 1-3pm.
