SUMMARY:Book Talk and Signing with Bethany Adams "Unsupported"
DESCRIPTION:This event will be held at the Paul Smith’s College VIC Theater from 6:00pm-8:00pm and will be the kick-off event for our Trail Running Festival the following day (August 22nd\, 2026). The book talk will be free to paid race registrants\, a suggested donation of at least $5 for non-race registrants will directly support our trail maintenance and race costs! \nBethany Adams is a writer\, mountain athlete and experiential educator. She is the first woman to achieve 100 Fastest Known Times (FKTs)\, and in 2020\, she became one of the first women to climb all 46 Adirondack High Peaks unsupported\, which she chronicles in her first book Unsupported (Rugged Outdoorswoman Publishing\, 2026). Her stories of endurance and healing through nature have been published in Trail Runner and Outside magazines and in the short story collection Blood Sweat Tears (Rugged Outdoorswoman Publishing\, 2024). Adams is a proud community ambassador for SheJumps\, a non-profit organization that works to provide more women and girls access to the outdoors. She can be found at @bethany.climbs on Instagram. \nPraise for Unsupported: \n“Adams is perseverance personified.” \n-Amanda K. Jaros\, Author of In My Boots: A Memoir of Five Million Steps along the Appalachian Trail \n“Unsupported is equal parts adventure\, endurance\, and emotional discovery. Adams’s stamina on the trail is extraordinary\, but it’s her account of those long and compact days traversing each of the Adirondack High Peaks that reveals a skilled new writer with remarkable grace and storytelling prowess. Once on the trail\, you won’t be able to put down Unsupported.” \n— Jim Gould\, writer and editor \nUnsupported: A Story of Moving Fast and Letting Go- Setting a Speed Record in the Adirondack Mountains\nOrder now: https://www.ruggedoutdoorswoman.com
