A Spectacular Overnight Orientation for New Smitties
Smitty Orientation is for our incoming Fall students that have committed to attending Paul Smith’s College. During this event, you will:
- Meet fellow students and begin building connections
- Learn about campus resources, academic support, and student services
- Connect with faculty, staff, and student leaders
- Complete essential steps to prepare for your first semester
- Get familiar with campus spaces and student life opportunities
Come explore everything your campus has to offer; from options like a guided hike, smores, yoga, fishing, paddling, culinary creations, and so much more – you won’t want to miss it!
Event Actions
Students will be spending the night in one of residence halls on Lower St. Regis Lake – Lydia Martin Smith (LMS) Hall. We have a few suggestions for things you should bring with you!
- Overnight Housing Waiver Form for Orientation
- Form: Bring a signed copy to Orientation Check-In
- Note: students who are under 18 at their Orientation will need a parent/guardian to sign off on this as well.
- Comforter & pillows (sheets will be provided)
- Fan, and anything else that would help keep you comfortable in your room.
- Towel & Overnight toiletries
- Weather appropriate attire, including rain boots/coat, sunscreen bug spray, hat etc.
- Fishing license and gear (recommended if you want to fish)
- A “ready to explore” attitude!
Family members and friends looking for lodging can review our partners & local accommodations.
You can also reserve a campsite on our Alumni Campground. Make a note that you are a family of a new student and the fee will be waived.
