On Friday February 27th a small group of students in the winter camping class set out for Marcy Dam. Our group consisted of our instructor, Andrew Mcdonald, and students Tim Blackburn, Bayle Reichert, Morgan Hancock, Jake Weber, Matt Wormell, and me.
We set up camp at Marcy Dam and spent the night. We woke up to a beautiful morning. The trail to Mount Colden was amazing with some frozen brook crossings and a bunch of snow as we gained elevation. As we approached the summit the clouds opened up for us and we had an unbelievable view. We took our group pictures on the summit and headed down. The hike out was uneventful but it was a great day and we’re looking forward to our next trip!
Thanks for sharing Bob! You certainly embody the Smitty spirit with your passion for excursions into the backcountry.
Bobby, I have seen so much though your stories and pictures and now you can share with everyone what you do best – summit those mountains. I am so proud of you. Love you, Mom.
Uncle Gary is extremely proud
Looks like an awesome day
Fantastic job, Bobby. I enjoyed reading it. Your pictures are beautiful, as usual.
