PSC VIC trails are open year round! Mountains, marshes, forests, streams – there’s a huge variety of terrain on our 3,000 acres. Please sign in at the main building when you start your adventure. Trail fees are required in winter to help us maintain excellent skiing conditions.

Barnum Brook
Length: 1.21km (0.75mi); Loop
Terrain: Gentle
Habitat: Wetland, Brook, Conifer Forest
Winter Use: Classic Skiing and Snowshoeing
Features: Wheelchair accessible, bridges, overlooks
Flora and Fauna: Spring ephemeral flowers, herons, red-winged Black Birds, snowshoe hare activity
Black Pond
Length: 3.66km (2.28mi); Loop
Terrain: Gently rolling, single track
Habitat: Hardwood and conifer forests
Winter Use: Snowshoe
Features: Two lean-tos available for reservation, a bridge across Little Black Pond, privy
Flora and Fauna: Barred Owls, Common Loons
Boreal Life
Length: 2.16km (1.34mi); Loop
Terrain: Mostly flat or rolling, one short hill
Habitat: Bog (with tamarack and black spruce), boreal forest (balsam, white pine overstory with mossy understory)
Winter Use: Snowshoe
Features: Boardwalk over fen, overlook to Barnum Pond
Flora and Fauna: Carnivorous plants, seasonal orchids, ferns, amphibians, boreal birds, Common Loons
Esker
Length: 1.75km (1.08mi); Out-and-back
Terrain: Uneven logging road
Habitat: Open hardwood forest
Winter Use: Classic ski (clockwise)
Features: Winter views of Whiteface, McKenzie, Jenkins, and Moose Mountains,
Flora and Fauna: Black bears
Heron Marsh
Length: 4.27km (2.65mi); Loop
Terrain: Small hills, slightly rolling
Habitat: Marsh, hardwood and coniferous forests
Winter Use: Classic ski, snowshoe
Features: Many lookout points and beautiful views of the marsh, 900ft board walk
Flora and Fauna: Emergent wetland vegetation, waterfowl, shorebirds, seasonal songbirds, frogs, river otters
Jenkins Mountain
Length: 6.75km (4.19mi); Out-and-back
Terrain: 900 feet elevation gain, 2513ft total elevation
Habitat: Mixed forest
Winter Use: Snowshoe, classic ski
Features: Only mountain on-site; passes by FERDA plots, successional beaver pond
Flora and Fauna: Black bear activity, Ruffed Grouse, kinglets, Pileated Woodpeckers
Logger’s Loop
Length: 7.35km (4.57mi); Loop
Terrain: Rolling, old logging road
Habitat: Mixed Forest
Winter Use: Ski
Features: Intersects with 10 other trails
Flora and Fauna: Ruffed Grouse, jack-in-the-pulpit, wood mints, open forest of hardwoods, dense conifers
Long Pond
Length: 0.95km (0.59mi); Connector trail
Terrain: Flat, single track
Habitat: Pond, mixed forest
Winter Use: Snowshoe
Features: Pond stocked with brook trout by NYS DEC, lean-to along the water can be reserved
Flora and Fauna: woodpeckers, black bears, common loons
Woods and Waters
Length: 4.96km (3.08mi); Out-and-back
Terrain: Gently rolling
Habitat: Hardwood and conifer forests
Winter Use: Ski
Features: Crosses Heron Marsh over a large floating bridge, passes through the sugar bush, an overlook
Flora and Fauna: Pines, balsam
