Amanda Wilson

I am a junior in the Culinary Arts and Service Management Program. I am also your junior class president in SGA. As junior class president, I speak on behalf of the junior class during our meetings. It’s bound to be an excellent year as junior class president because the rest of the executive staff and myself have a true knowledge of what the student government needs to get done in order to keep everything on track – and we understand completely what the students want, and need, from us.

Q: Where is your favorite place on campus?

A: My favorite spot on campus is either sitting outside on the Morgan deck of the student center, or at the outdoor classroom, to sit and think.

Q: What’s one change you’d love to see happen on campus?

A: One change that I would to love to see on this campus would be people placing their phones down for about a half an hour and enjoy the wonderful scenery.

Q: What is one piece of advice or information you’d give to your fellow students?

A: One piece of advice that I would like to tell my fellow students is don’t be afraid to do new things or try something that you haven’t done before.

Q: What’s one piece of advice or information you’d give to faculty and staff?

A: A piece of information that I would give to the faculty and staff is to tie their personal experiences into their lessons. I personally love to hear stories from my teachers who have had both great and bad experience from their past.

Ashley Hodge

I am a junior Biology major with a minor in Chemistry and GIS. I am the current secretary for the SGA, and I got involved because I was the representative for The Wildlife Society. I realized that the SGA could do a lot for the students, and it was a little underutilized so I wanted to change that. I want to get students more involved so we can really change this campus so every student can have great opportunities and amazing experiences here.

Q: What’s one piece of advice or information you’d give to your fellow students?

A: The advice I’d like to give students is that if they want to see change, come to meetings. One thing that drove me crazy last year was that students were constantly complaining about things on campus, but they never did anything. A great start would be to attend a meeting and bring it up to the student government. We might be able to help!

Q: What’s one piece of advice or information you’d like faculty, staff, or administration to know?

A: To faculty I would like to say we’re here for you too. They labor for us students and if they know something that could improve students’ experience let us know! We can maybe help with that too!
