Disaster Management and Response

The increased frequency and severity of major disasters such as droughts, floods, wildfires, hurricanes, and earthquakes are global phenomena with world-altering consequences.

Equip yourself with the necessary skills and knowledge to address the most pressing challenge of our time. This four-year degree path includes an opportunity to focus on work by choosing an Analysis and Planning and Response Practitioner concentration.

  • Aligns with the United Nation’s globally-endorsed Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030. This framework emphasizes a proactive approach to managing risk reduction, sustainable development and public safety.
  • Offers a broad scope of professional opportunities for graduates, including resource management, economic and social impact assessment, policymaking, and community development.
  • Includes practical training in Incident Command System and National Incident Management System, used worldwide for rapid collaboration among first responders, government and non-government agencies, citizens, and the private sector for emergency response.

Natural and man-made disasters are causing more damage to our infrastructure and economies than ever before. we have the technology to track and predict natural hazards before they become disasters. this program will train students to prepare, mitigate, respond and recover through a holistic approach.
