    New York State Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie and Assemblymember Michael Cashman visited Paul Smith's College on Tuesday to tour the Adirondack Watershed Institute (AWI) and announce $1 million in state funding to expand the institute's water quality testing capacity.

    The Adirondack Park is one of New York State’s most extraordinary assets. Larger than Yosemite, Yellowstone, Glacier, and the Grand Canyon National Parks combined, it encompasses six million acres of public and private land. It is a park for all New Yorkers to enjoy and a magnet for out-of-state and international visitors, drawing ten to twelve million tourists annually.
