Dan joined the faculty at Paul Smith's College in September 2003 as Executive Director of the Adirondack Watershed Institute and Associate Professor of Natural Resources in the School of Forestry and Natural Resources. He has a wide range of expertise in natural resources science and management with particular emphasis on forest productivity, soils, and nutrient cycling. Dan has published in Biomass and Bioenergy, Forest Ecology and Management, Water Air and Soil Pollution, Environmental and Experimental Botany, Soil Biology and Biochemistry, Journal of Environmental Quality, New Zealand Journal of Forest Research, Canadian Journal of Forest Research, Soil Science Society of America Journal, and Journal of Aquatic Plant Management.
