International Paper John Dillon Park

The Adirondack State Park, also known as the Adirondack Park is a large state park in northeast New York. It is also the largest state park in the contiguous United States, covering a land area about the size of Massachusetts.   Adirondack State Park.

All of our lean-tos are fully accessible either by ramp or by transfer from a wheelchair and are equipped with a fold-down bed, fireplace and picnic table. We have picnic sites for those that choose to come for the day or just want a quiet spot away from it all to enjoy their lunch. Our network of miles of trails will give you the opportunity to take a nature hike or just find a quiet place in the woods to watch which of nature’s creatures will pass by.

The Park offers over 3 miles of trails, 9 fully accessible lean-to camping structures, tent camping, viewing decks, canoe/kayak launch and pontoon boat excursions for site seeing and fishing.  The Welcome Center has running water 24 hours a day and when open sanitary facilities are fully accessible.  The park is completely off grid and is serviced by solar panels and propane and staff is available 24 hours a day.

All the trails are barrier free and gently sloped with grades of less than 6 percent throughout.  We are proud to offer this wilderness location that is age and ability friendly.

In the creation of this setting we have set the standard for accessible facilities by making the beauty and benefit of nature a reality for all.
