Chef McCarthy has more than three decades of experience in world-class kitchens and hospitality operations. A native of Sylvan Beach, New York, and now a resident of Saranac Lake, he is a 1993 graduate of The Culinary Institute of America.

Two people in a kitchenKevin’s career has taken him across the United States and Europe, with positions at renowned properties including Chatham’s Place in Orlando; Sheraton Flughafen Hotel in Frankfurt; Fredericksburg Brewing Company in Texas; Keswick Hall in Virginia; Le Gavroche in London; The Waterside in Bray, England; and The Grand Hotel in Amsterdam. He later served as Executive Chef at two iconic Adirondack destinations—the Point Resort in Saranac Lake and Lake Placid Lodge—before becoming Corporate Chef for The Garrett Hotel Group, supporting multiple distinguished properties across New York, South Carolina, New Mexico, and Arizona.

A Certified Culinary Educator (CCE) and Certified Executive Chef (CEC), Chef McCarthy brings to the classroom a commitment to craftsmanship, mentorship, and hands-on learning rooted in real-world experience. Outside the kitchen, he enjoys fishing and coaching basketball.
