Master of Professional Studies / 32 Credits

The Master’s in Sustainable Tourism Management is designed for working adults who want to advance their careers without putting their lives on hold. This program is designed to maximize the integrity and resilience of natural ecosystems and destination cultures and communities while providing equitable and durable economic impact from tourism benefiting providers, participants, collaborators, and host community members.
  • Finish in just over one year. Complete your master’s degree in just over one calendar year.
  • Learn primarily online. Most coursework is delivered online, so you can participate from wherever you live and work.
  • Keep working while you earn your degree. The flexible format allows full-time professionals, military veterans, and recent graduates to pursue an advanced degree without stepping away from their careers or income.
  • Experience two immersive residencies. Come together with faculty and classmates for two short, high-impact learning experiences—one in the Adirondacks at Paul Smith’s College and another at a dynamic sustainable tourism destination at the conclusion of the program.
  • Build a professional network. The residencies create meaningful opportunities to connect with faculty, peers, and professionals while experiencing sustainable tourism in practice.
