At Paul Smith’s College, academic support is built into the student experience from day one. Whether you’re adjusting to college-level coursework, planning your career path, or navigating college as a first-generation student, you’ll find people here who are ready to help you succeed.

Our approach is personal and grounded in the belief that students thrive when they are supported as whole people — in and out of the classroom.

Support for Every Step of Your Journey

Academic support at Paul Smith’s College includes a range of services designed to meet students where they are and help them grow in confidence, skills, and independence.

Tutoring & Career Planning

Get help with studying, time management, and organization, connect with tutors, and explore career options — all in one place. The Center for Academic and Career Success is the everyday hub for academic and career support at Paul Smith’s College.

Support for First-Generation & Income-Eligible Students

Students who are the first in their families to attend college, or who meet income eligibility guidelines, may qualify for specialized support programs such as TRiO Student Support Services and the Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP). These programs offer personalized advising, mentoring, and resources to help students succeed and stay on track.

Accommodations & Services

We are committed to providing equal access to learning for all students. We works with students to arrange reasonable academic accommodations and ensure an inclusive learning environment.

The TRiO services and staff completely altered the trajectory of my college experience. They will be your biggest advocates through the best and worst of times.
