Amanda Laah (pronounced lay‑ya) Vincent is the Director of Student Access: TRiO & HEOP at Paul Smith’s College, where she has proudly called home for nearly 14 years. A Plattsburgh native, Amanda earned her bachelor’s degree from Siena College (now Siena University) and her master’s from SUNY Plattsburgh before finding her way home to the Adirondacks—and to PSC—just months after graduating.

She originally joined the college as an admissions counselor, fully convinced she’d stay for “six months, tops.” Fourteen years later, she’s still here, having built a career across Admissions, HEOP, and now TRiO SSS, where she has worked since 2019. In 2025, she stepped into her current role, sharing leadership of both TRiO and HEOP and continuing her passion for helping students discover their strengths, find their confidence, and grow from nervous first‑years into empowered graduates.

PSC is more than a workplace for Amanda—it’s where she met her husband, built her life, and welcomed her daughter, Laah Rae, in 2022. Her home in the woods is shared with her two beloved doodles, Oliver and Luke. Although she’ll be the first to admit she’s not a winter person, she absolutely loves her little corner of the Adirondacks.

Outside of work, Amanda can usually be found soaking up any sunshine she can find, vacationing somewhere warm, snowmobiling, building LEGO sets, or spending time with friends and family. She never really left college because she genuinely loves supporting students—and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
