Adirondack Field Ecology is a hands-on field ecology course where you’ll study the natural world of the Adirondack Park — one of the largest protected areas in the United States — through scientific observation, sampling, and real-world data collection. It’s designed for high school or college students aged 16-20 who want a head start on a science degree. Upon successful completion, participants will earn 4 college credits.
Over the course of four weeks, participants will:
- Online (June 29 – July 11): Lay foundation in ecological principles and prepare for fieldwork.
- On Campus (July 12 – 25): Engage in daily outdoor labs, practice GIS mapping and analysis, and integrating observation with scientific interpretation.
Program cost is $2,095 and covers tuition, fees, room and board.
