Admissions

Hannah Ackerman, Director of Admissions

I was born and raised in Milford, NY and am a proud Smitty, class of ’11, where I majored in Hotel, Resort Tourism Management with a minor in Business. I fell in love with the area after attending school here and have never left! I love to spend my free time reading, and in the winter time watching football (GO PACK GO!) and pursuing my love of quilting. I’m proud to call this special place my home!

Jessica Rodino-Sturtz, Admissions Counselor

Originally from Lewiston, NY, I have spent most of my life moving around all area’s of WNY before Paul Smith’s College brought me to the Adirondacks. My fiance is a Veteran student and from the moment we stepped foot on campus, we knew this is where we were meant to be! I attended Buffalo State College where i graduated with a BS in Psychology with a minor in Neuropsychology (’17). In my free time, you can find me hiking or cross-country skiing with my dogs. I also love to spend time with my family and friends, travelling, good food (both cooking and eating!) and photography. The Adirondacks was my family’s yearly vacation spot growing up, so I am happy to finally call this place home!

Rachel McCloskey, Regional Director of Admissions

My name is Rachel, and I am a proud Pennsylvanian serving prospective “Smitties” from the New York metropolitan area! I was born and raised in Altoona, PA and spent my undergraduate years in Huntingdon, PA where I attended Juniata College. As a first-generation college student, my admission counselor, Michelle, played a pivotal role in my college search process. Since graduating in 2017, I have enjoyed embodying her spirit and assisting students in the college application process. With more than five years of admissions experience, I have worked at both small and medium sized institutions truly enjoying personalizing the experience for my students. In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors, shopping for vintage furniture, trying new coffee shops, and traveling. Let’s connect!

Sonya Stein, Director of Financial Aid

Originally from Troy, NY, I moved to the Adirondacks in 2019 after spending a decade in Alaska. I’ve had the privilege to work in financial aid administration for over 16 years and am actively involved in state, regional and national professional organizations. Having been a first-generation, low income student, I find tremendous satisfaction in helping students overcome financial obstacles to get the education they deserve. I’m so proud of the one-on-one service we’re able to offer to PSC students and look forward to helping you achieve your educational goals. Outside of work, I love hiking, live music, and furry four-legged animals.
