Student Health Services Scheduled Appointments Policy  

PSC provides students with access to healthcare professionals at no charge at the Student Health Clinic, located on the garden level of the Student Center.  

  • The clinic is open 9a-4p Monday-Friday during the academic year 
  • A Registered Nurse is available Monday-Friday during the academic year  
  • A medical provider is available via telemedicine 9a-12p on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays during the academic year 

Appointments may be made with either the medical provider or the nurse via the Student Health Portal, by emailing healthservices@paulsmiths.edu, or by calling 518-327-6319.  

Please Arrive Early. Students should plan to arrive 10 minutes early to fill out patient intake forms before their appointment. Since arriving at the scheduled appointment time (or later) can lead to delays in the day’s schedule, students who do not arrive by their appointment time may be asked to reschedule 

No Shows. Scheduling an appointment means that time is reserved and therefore unavailable to other students. Students who decide they no longer need an appointment should cancel at least two hours before the appointment. To encourage this practice, Student Health Services has a “no-show” fee of $15, which will be placed on the student’s account and listed as an “infirmary charge”.  Since there are often legitimate reasons for missing an appointment, an appeal form is available. Students are given 1 week from the date of the missed appointment to submit it to healthservices@paulsmiths.edu. If the appeal is approved, the fee will be removed. There is no fee for cancelled appointments with the nurse, however if a student misses 2 or more scheduled appointments with the nurse they will not be permitted to schedule appointments for one month and will need to come in as a “walk-in” to be seen. 

 

 

 

 

 

*Appointments to see the nurse or medical provider are free for students. However, if the provider orders anything outside the clinic (e.g., prescription medication, blood tests/labwork or imaging including x-rays, ultrasounds etc.), these services may incur a charge depending on the student’s health insurance plan. To understand the cost of any of these outside services, students should contact their insurance company by calling the number listed on the back of their insurance card before obtaining the outside service.
